Delete Your Account and Data
Effective Date: August 8, 2026 · Last Updated: September 21, 2026 ·
Applies to the MuteMate mobile
application (com.mutemate), operated by MUTEMATE, Unit No
KCO45, B 128 First Floor, Sector 2, Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar
Pradesh, 201301.
You can delete your MuteMate account and the personal data associated
with it at any time. There are two ways to do this, and both result in
the same deletion. You do not need to have the app installed to make a
request.
1. Delete From Inside the App (Fastest)
This takes effect immediately and needs no waiting period:
- Open MuteMate and sign in
- Go to Settings
- Under Account, select Account Info
- Select Delete account, type DELETE and confirm
2. Request Deletion by Email
If you no longer have the app installed, or you cannot sign in, email
us and we will delete the account for you:
-
Send to:
support@mutemate.in
- Subject: Account Deletion Request
-
Include: the email address of the Google account
you signed up with, so we can locate the account
We acknowledge requests within 24 hours and complete verified
deletion requests within 15 days. We may ask you to confirm
the request from your registered email address before proceeding —
this is to prevent someone else from deleting your account.
3. What Gets Deleted
When your account is deleted, the following is erased from the Service
straight away, and your profile immediately stops being visible to
other users:
- Your profile details, bio and preferences
- All photos and voice recordings you uploaded
- Your matches, likes and profile views
- Your chat messages
- Any face verification images still held
- Your notification and device tokens
4. What Is Kept, and For How Long
A limited set of records is retained after deletion. We keep these
because the law requires it, not because we need them:
-
Registration records — 180 days. Required by Rule
3(1)(g) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and
Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. These are permanently
deleted once the 180 days expire. They are not used to contact you
and cannot be used to restore your profile.
-
Payment and transaction records. Retained as
required by tax and financial record-keeping obligations.
-
Safety reports and moderation records. Retained
where another user has reported an account, or where an account was
banned, so that safety decisions remain reviewable and evidence is
not destroyed by the person it concerns.
-
Scrambled safety records — kept permanently. To
stop banned people from coming back, we keep one-way hashed
records: a hash of the email address of banned accounts and, for
deleted accounts, a hash of the email address (and phone number, if
one was on file) with a note of whether the account had been
banned. A hash cannot be turned back into your email address and
cannot be used to restore your profile or contact you.
Accounts under investigation. If your account is
banned, or there is an unresolved report against it, related content
is preserved as evidence for moderation and law-enforcement purposes
instead of being erased immediately.
5. Can I Get My Account Back?
No. Deletion is permanent and your content cannot be recovered. If you
sign up again later with the same email address, you start with a new,
empty profile. Accounts that were banned cannot be recreated.
